Spa Pools
A spa pool is generally thought of as a small pool in which a small number of people can sit and relax whilst enjoying a Jacuzzi or heated energised water. They are also called spa tubs or spa hot tubs.
Most spa pools are fairly small and compact in size and have an internal profile that provides seating (in the form of a ledge) that runs around the internal perimeter of the spa pool. There is usually a deeper section in the centre of the pool that may allow total submersion.
Spa pools come in a range of sizes and typically seat anything from 2 to 3 people to 7 to 8 people. Much larger spa pools are of course available, but these are less popular in the home market.
Spa pools can be bought as in-ground or free-standing units and a common theme is to provide a decorative surround, possibly with a Swedish, or northern European wood effect appearance.
A recent variation on the normal spa pool is a swimming spa. These swimming spa's are small rectangular spas that use jet current of water that allows a swimmer to swim in the pool without actually making any forward progress. These pool are good exercise devices and are ideal for anyone who likes swimming, but has neither the space nor the resources for a full swimming pool.
